A two-hour guided hike on what locals call the mountain (but some say it’s more of a hill) – called Omberg, 20 kilometers south of Vadstena. Here you’ll find steep cliffs and lush green beech forest. These woods have got the largest diversity of plant species in Sweden.
We’ll walk the hills and slopes of Omberg, following the same pathways as the prehistoric foresters did. In the rich meadows you might stop for reflections under a several hundred-year old tree. We'll make stops for panoramic views, with enough time for both photo sessions and contemplation. Your tour guide will share some tales and legends connected to the mountain. We’ll talk about how nature has shaped Omberg during the ages and how life conditions here have changed.
This tour however, focuses more on the great views, history and outdoor life at Omberg, and less about nature and species
Highlights of Hiking Omberg:
- Hiking in the diverse woods of Omberg
- Great views over Lake Vättern
- Photographic spots
- A beautiful countryside
